While earning his master’s degree at Dakota State, Bell served as an assistant coach for the Trojans before coaching at Aldiene Eisenhower High School in Houston, Tex., and Iowa Central Community College in Fort Dodge, Iowa. A native of Port Arthur, Tex., Bell was selected to participate in the 2009 NCAA Football Coaches Academy.

Bell and his wife, Amanda, reside in North Mankato.

Hoffner on Bell: "We are excited to have coach Bell back for his eighth season on the Maverick football staff. Brian brings a wealth of knowledge to the staff having spent some time with the 49ers this past summer. The charismatic approach to educating young men has been at the heart of his passion for success. We are looking forward to continuing the success that Brian is accustomed to."
