Biography

2021-22: Named to the NSIC All-Academic Team of Excellence and received the NSIC Myles Brand Academic Award…Earned All-NSIC honors as a member of the 200 medley relay team that finished first at the conference championships with a time of 1:41.45…Finished fourth in the both the 100 butterfly (55.97) and the 100 IM (58.62) at the NSIC Championships…Also finished sixth in the 200 butterfly at the conference meet with a time of 2:11.14.

2020-21: Named to the NSIC All-Academic Team/Team of Excellence…Took fourth place in the 100 IM at the NSIC Championships with a time of 59.90…Added a sixth place finish (57.35) at the NSIC Championships in the 100 butterfly event…

2019-20: Posted a fifth place finish in the 100 IM at the NSIC Championships with a time of 59.51…Also finished 12th in the 100 backstroke with a time of 59.29 at the NSIC Championships…Named to the NSIC All-Academic Team/Team of Excellence.

2018-19: Garnered All-NSIC honors as a member of the 800 freestyle relay team that finished second at the NSIC Championships with a time of 7:38.73…Took sixth place in the 200 freestyle at the NSIC Championships with a time of 1:53.60…Also finished sixth in the 100 IM (58.70) and the 200 IM (2:08.41) at the NSIC Championships.

High School: A four-time state qualifier from Urbandale, Iowa, Rinderknecht recently received All-State Second Teams honors as she finished fourth in the 100-yard butterfly and sixth in the 200-yard IM at the Iowa High School State Meet...She owns two school records in the 400-yard and 200-yard freestyle relay events at Waukee High School...She also received All-American honors in the 200-yard freestyle relay...Was also a part of three USA swimming state relay records representing Central Iowa Aquatics, including the 400-yard medley relay, 400-yard free relay and 800-yard free relay.  

Personal: Kayla is the daughter of Kristi and Randy Rinderknecht...Born April 10, 2000...Majoring in community health.
