Kacy Nickerson competed in softball, basketball, volleyball and track and field at Ottumwa High School. She was a four-year starter for both the softball and basketball teams...She also played in the outfield and at first base...She claimed All-State honors during each her four seasons with the softball team, including All-State First Team honors as a junior where she went 17-5 with 184 punch outs and a 2.35 ERA...In total, she claimed four all-conference first team honors as she picked up 57 wins in four seasons, to go along with more than 600 strikeouts...She also helped her team to three conference championships and a region championship during her junior season as her team advanced the state tournament...She also batted at least .336 or better in each of her four seasons, including a .416 batting average during her junior season, where she set a school record with 21 doubles.
