Biography

2014: Started all 56 games for the Mavericks…Batted .370 with seven home runs and six doubles…Finished second on the team in RBI with 50…Received the NSIC Myles Brand Award…Scored 30 runs and coaxed nine walks…Received All-NSIC Second Team honors…Stole seven bases and recorded 52 assists in the field…Named to the NFCA All-Central Region Second Team and the Daktronics All-Central Region Second Team…Posted a .526 slugging percentage and a .398 on base percentage…Posted at least two hits in 18 games, including a season-high three hits against MSU Moorhead (4/7)…Put together a 15-game hitting streak, including a five-game stretch where she record two hits in each game…Drove in at least three runs in seven games including a season-high four against Concordia-St. Paul (3/26).

2013: Started all 51 games she played in... Batted .295 with a slugging percentage of .503...Hit 9 homeruns totalling 30 RBI and 20 runs scored… Finished second on the team in homeruns (9) and tied for first on the team in sac flies (2)… Posted 44 hits, including 4 doubles, 10 walks earning 75 total bases… Tallied a .503 slugging percentage, including a .295 batting average…  Stole two bases on two attempts…  .979 fielding percentage on a 194 chances, with 127 putouts…  She earned NSIC All-Tournament honors and was also named to the NSIC Gold Glove Team. Currently sits fourth in career homeruns (26) and ninth in career slugging percentage (.519).

2012: Started all 59 games, 19 as catcher, 25 at first base and 15 at third base…Was a member of the NSIC Gold Glove Team…Hit .316 with 56 hits including five doubles and nine home runs to go with 31 runs batted in…Scored 34 runs this season and owns a slugging percentage of .497 and an on base percentage of .358…Had a season-high three hits on three different occasions, last of which came at Upper Iowa (4/6)…Blasted a walk-off grand slam to propel Minnesota State to the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Tournament championship…Had a season-high five RBI against Augustana (4/29) which is the most by a Maverick this season…Scored three runs against Lees-McRae (3/5)…Batted .377 with the bases empty…Had 16 multiple hit games this year – the second highest total on the team – and eight multiple-RBI games…Reached base in ten-straight games earlier this season and had a five-game hitting streak…Over the course of her career she is hitting .324 in 125 games, scoring 63 runs, blasting 19 doubles, 17 home runs and a triple to go with 70 runs batted in...Wood was named 2012 NFCA Second Team All-Central Region.

2011: Was named Second-Team All-NSIC...Hit .331 in her maiden season with MSU, connecting on 60 hits in 181 trips to the plate...Played in 66 games and started 62 at either catcher or the designated player position...Had 14 doubles, a triple and eight home runs to go with 39 RBI while slugging .552 and having an on-base percentage of .372...Committed just one error all season and owned a .997 fielding percentage...Finished third in the league in times hit by a pitch (8).

High School:  Was a catcher and a three-year letter winner for Eagan…Was the team’s Offensive and Defensive Player of the Year en route to earning all-conference, all-section and all-state honors...This past year, Eagan was the 3AAA Regional champions…Batted .388 and slugged .585 last year with 4 home runs and 16 RBI…Also boasted a perfect fielding percentage...In 2008, Wood batted .373 and slugged .720 to go with 16 RBI and 5 home runs...Started all 4 years at Eagan and had a career record of 82-15.
