MANKATO, Minn. — The fifth annual MavWeek Challenge kicks off today and runs through Friday night, inviting Maverick fans, alumni, and supporters to come together to fuel the future of Minnesota State Athletics.

The MavWeek Challenge is a five-day fundraising initiative supporting Maverick Athletics, with 100 percent of each gift staying with the sport designated by the donor. It’s a powerful way for supporters to make an immediate and direct impact on the programs they love.

Fans can supercharge their support during MavWeek by making a gift to their favorite Maverick sport. Several programs are launching the Challenge with generous matching gifts, giving donors the opportunity to double their impact and help build momentum all week long.

“MavWeek is a celebration of what makes Maverick Athletics special—our people,” said Director of Athletics Kevin Buisman. “Every gift, no matter the size, directly supports our student-athletes and the coaches who help them compete, grow, and succeed. When Mavericks come together, the impact is tremendous.”

Through its first four years, the MavWeek Challenge has raised $591,222 to benefit Maverick Athletics. In 2025, supporters helped shatter expectations, surpassing the $165,000 goal by raising $188,032. This year, the goal is $170,000, and the #MavFam is once again being called on to rise to the challenge.
