SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - Minnesota State women's cross country placed second at the Augie Twilight 5K late Friday night at Yankton Park Trail. Junior Ashley Overgaauw led the Mavericks with a seventh place finish (17:35.78). Sophomore Mileena Sullivan came across ninth in 17:39.54 and sophomore Amanda Overgaauw took 22nd with a time of 18:00.99.

Ashlyn Hillyard won the race for South Dakota State 17:04.27, helping SDSU win the event as a team. The Mavericks finished as the top team in Division II with a score of 75, ahead of Augustana (108, third) and Minnesota Crookston (210, fourth).

Next on the calendar for MSU is the Roy Griak Invitational (6K) on September 19 at Les Bolstad Golf Course.
