EDMOND, Okla. – Minnesota State softball's 2025 campaign ended Friday night in the third game of the NCAA Division II Central Region Tournament, 4-1 to Rogers State at Gerry Pinkston Stadium. The Mavericks defeated Pittsburgh State earlier in the afternoon to stay alive but were eliminated by the Hillcats in the double-elimination draw.

The Mavericks (39-20) made their 19
th appearance in the NCAA Tournament. Rogers State (39-14) plays Central Oklahoma on Saturday, with the winner of the series advancing to the NCAA Division II Super Region Tournament.

After three scoreless innings, the Hillcats opened a 3-0 edge in the top of the fourth. Chloe Bohuslavicky led off with a solo home run to left center. Mariah Belzer walked with two outs and Brooke Nauman homered to right field.

The Mavericks responded with a run in the bottom of the fifth inning.
Sailor Hall reached on a one-out single and advanced to second on
Marina Carter's grounder to third.
Carly Kimmes collected the run batted in with a single toward first base.

The Hillcats added one run in the top of the sixth for a 4-1 advantage. The Mavericks turned a double play to start the frame. Then Saylor Brown walked and Karlee Smith doubled down the left field line.

Roger State starting pitcher Jade Sanders allowed a two-out single to
Gianna Lara but induced a ground ball from
Maddie Helin to keep the Mavericks in check. Sanders retired all three hitters in the seventh to end the game.

Hall led the Mavericks in two hits in three trips to the plate.
Maddie Oetzmann pitched 3.2 innings and allowed three earned runs, five hits, walked two and struck out two.
Brianne Stone allowed one run (unearned) and four hits in 3.1 innings of relief.
