MANKATO, Minn. --- The 2024-25 Minnesota State athletic season saw the Mavericks rank in the top-20 in attendance in NCAA Division I for men's hockey and NCAA Division II for football and men's and women's basketball.
The Minnesota State men's hockey team boasted the largest overall attendance and average crowds in the CCHA last season. MSU ranked 11th in overall attendance with 99,845 fans and 20th in average attendance with 4,160 fans a game. Seventeen of MSU's 24 home games this past season saw at least 4,000 fans in the stands, including a season-best 5,042 vs. North Dakota.
A total of 28,738 football fans packed Blakeslee Stadium this past season, which were the 16th most in Division II, and 11 spots higher than the next closest NSIC Team (Northern State). MSU averaged 4,790 fans per game last season. Minnesota State's Homecoming game against Sioux Falls boasted the second largest crowd in Blakeslee Stadium history with 7,105 fans.
The Maverick men's basketball team led the NSIC and ranked fourth in Division II in overall attendance with 21,418 fans and third in average attendance with 1,785. The Mavericks were just one of five Division II teams to see more than 20,000 fans attend their games last season, which included a season-best 2,873 fans vs. Winona State.
The Minnesota State women's basketball team ranked seventh in overall attendance in Division II with 16,186 fans and fourth in average attendance with 1,349 fans. MSU was just one of 11 teams to average more than 1,000 fans a game last season, which included a season-high 2,210 fans during senior night vs. UMary.
