TOLEDO, Ohio - Minnesota State forward
Will Hillman (Blaine, Minnesota) signed a professional contract to join the Toledo Walleye, ECHL affiliate of the Detroit Red Wings. Hillman is the fourth Maverick to sign professionally this offseason, following defenseman
Jordan Power (Greenville Swamp Rabbits, ECHL),
Kaden Bohlsen (Calgary Wranglers, AHL) and
Brian Carrabes (Adirondack Thunder, ECHL).
Hillman skated in 115 games in Purple and Gold over four seasons. He totaled 10 goals, 14 assists and 24 points as a Maverick. This season, Hillman posted three goals, six assists and nine points with 56 shots on goal, helping MSU make their 10th appearance in the NCAA Tournament.
Prior to the Mavericks, Hillman played for Youngstown (USHL) and Bismarck (NAHL). He also captained the Blaine Bengals in high school, and led his team to a third place finish at the Minnesota State high school hockey tournament.
