MANKATO, Minn. --- The Minnesota State Athletic Department has selected nine individuals and one team for the school's Hall of Fame ceremonies which will take place on Friday, October 4.
New members of the Hall of Fame in the student-athlete category include
Shane Joseph (men's hockey, '04),
Lindsay Erickson (softball, '14),
Shannon Dusosky (soccer, '05),
Candice Siewert (volleyball & softball, '79),
Grant Stevenson (men's hockey, '03),
Liz Trauger (women's basketball, '10) and
Ali Wilkinson (women's basketball, '14).
Tiffany Moe (women's basketball, '10) was voted into the MSU Hall of Fame in 2023 but deferred enshrinement until the fall of 2024. In the Hall of Fame team category, the 2013 Minnesota State baseball squad received the nod after posting a 42-9 record to go along with an NSIC Tournament championship. The Mavericks would go on to win the NCAA Central Region championship, before eventually falling in the NCAA Championship game.
Selected this year for the Builder's category are long time radio play-by-play personality
Mike Sullivan, who called 24 seasons of Minnesota State men's hockey, in addition to Maverick football and other events.
Carol Stallkamp, will also be recognized in the Builder's category. Carol served in the Office of the President, where she worked diligently to bring Minnesota State into compliance with Title IX and was also a long time Hoops Club member and Maverick sports fan.
This year's Jim Schaffer Service Award recipient is
TJ Palesotti who has done public address for Minnesota State men's hockey for 20 seasons and football for 19 seasons.
Also being recognized at this year's Hall of Fame festivities as MSU Athletics Philanthropist of the Year recipients are
Angie Schuck and
Keith Flack. Angie and Keith were instrumental in creating and growing the
Mark Schuck Legacy Endowment. In addition, they helped facilitate the
Mark Schuck Track facility naming process and have generously supported Maverick Athletics through scholarship contributions and other meaningful gifts.
