SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - No. 22 ranked Augustana snapped Minnesota State's three-match win streak Sunday morning with a 7-0 victory in NSIC women's tennis at Heuther Match Pointe. Chiara Carnelutti and Avery Stilwell teamed to win a set 6-4 at No. 1 doubles, but the Vikings swept singles to stay undefeated (5-0) in conference duels.

"Today was the best performance we have had as a team so far this season," said head coach Tristen Bryant-Otake. "I was proud of every match that was played. The final score did not reflect how well we played against the defending champs. Our doubles matches were all so close and now we know what we have to work on the next time we see Augustana. In singles, I felt it was the best showing we have had against the Vikings in years, including three third set tiebreakers. This is something to be proud of and I hope it gives us confidence knowing we are capable of competing with the best."

Minnesota State (7-5, 5-2 NSIC) remained in third place in the conference standings behind Augustana (11-2, 5-0) and University of Mary (5-4, 4-0). Next up is a trip to University of Nebraska Omaha in non-conference play on March 30 before the team returns home to host Minnesota Crookston on April 5 in St. Peter. 

Augustana bested the Mavericks 4-0 in last season's conference tournament championship.
