Zach Krajnik scored a pair of goals and added an assist as Minnesota State polished off Manitoba 6-1 in an exhibition contest Monday afternoon at Mayo Clinic Health System Event Center.

The Mavericks scored early and often and took a 3-0 edge into the first intermission.

Brian Carrabes collected a turnover at the top of the right circle and fed Krajnik in the low slot, where the senior tapped in the game's first goal.
Brett Moravec made it 2-0 at 9:09 of the first period on the rebound following a shot by Luciano Wilson.
Luigi Benincasa also assisted.

Krajnik scored his second at 18:36 from Carrabes.

Luigi Benincasa added second-period even strength markers before Josh Paulus got the Bisons on the board at 14:36.

The Mavericks rested their top line in the second half of the game, but Luciano Wilson tallied his first of the afternoon 17:12 into the third period, with assists from
Fin Williams and
Brenden Olson. Wilson totaled a goal and two assists on the afternoon.

Eli Pulver relieved
Alex Tracy in goal and made 12 saves with one goal against over 48 minutes of ice time.

The Mavericks (14-4-2) play at St. Norbert College (12-1-0) on Tuesday, January 7 at 6 p.m. in De Pere, Wisconsin in an exhibition.Â
