MANKATO, Minn— No 12. Minnesota State (6-1-3, 5-0-1) is back on the road Friday as the team travels to Southwest Minnesota State (1-7-1, 1-3-1). The Mavericks then host Winona State (3-4-1, 2-4-0) on Saturday at The Pitch.
MSU traveled to Minnesota Duluth and St. Cloud State this past weekend. MSU went 1-0-1 and now owns a 6-1-3 overall record.
Facing the Mustangs:
Going into the match up with SMSU, the Mavericks are 22-1-1 against the Mustangs. The last time they met was last season at The Pitch. Minnesota State won 3-0.
Scouting SMSU:
The Mustangs have a 1-7-1 record. This past weekend, Southwest Minnesota State traveled to Minnesota Crookston and won 2-0. On Sunday they traveled to Bemidji State where they lost 2-1. Haley Mason leads the Mustangs with two goals this season.
Facing the Warriors:
The Mavericks are 17-14-2 against Winona State. The last time the Warriors and Mavericks met, the game ended in a 0-0 tie.
Scouting Winona State:
Winona State holds a 3-4-1 record. The Warriors were on the road this weekend where they fell to Bemidji State 3-0, then defeated Minnesota Crookston 2-0. Jacey Sturek and Abigail Willams leads Winona state. Sturek has four assists this season while Williams has two goals.
