Marshall, Minn. --- 17th-rated Minnesota State wrestling team concluded the regular season with an 24-16 defeat against 21st-rated Southwest Minnesota State in a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference dual held in Marshall, Minn. Sunday afternoon. 

The loss, in which Minnesota State won four of ten matches, Mavericks finish (2-6, 2-6 NSIC) on the season, while the Mustangs improve to (2-6, 2-6 NSIC). 
 
Minnesota State dropped the first match via pin fall, then a forfeit at 133lbs., at 141 lbs., Kolbe O'Brien got the Mavericks on the board first with an 4-2 decision over Justin Sampson.
 
The Mavericks dropped the next two matches before Brody Nielsen at 165 lbs., defeated Elijah Sterner by decision 9-3, then #8 Trevor Turriff improved to 15-2 on the season after defeating Carter Marx by a 11-2 major decision.  
 
MSU dropped the 184-pound bout, and the 197-pound bout, then Maverick junior heavyweight #10 Darrell Mason upped his record to 14-0 on the season pinning (0:37) Neil Hanson in the final match of the dual.

Next action for Minnesota State is Feb. 26 when the Mavericks compete at the NCAA Division II Super Regional at Moorhead, Minn.
