#12 Minnesota State Falls Out of NSIC Tournament Against Minot State in the Shootout

Mankato, Minn.--- #12 Minnesota State could not find the back of the net in both regulation and overtime as the Mavericks fell to Minot State in the Shootout.
Mackenzie Rath continued her dominate season with her 11th shutout on the season and 22nd of her career. With 11 shutouts on the season, she matches her career high shutouts in a season which is good enough for 4th most shutouts in a season.
Matching excellence was Minot goalkeeper Maddie Kindred who stopped all 11 shots-on-goal throughout the match that kept her team in the game. The Mavericks owned the ball for most of the game resulting in a lopsided 24-8 shot total at the final.
In the shootout, head coach Brian Bahl sent out his top players to give Kindred the tallest task of her career in Allie WilliamsBrynn DesensJenny VetterAnna Van WyngardenMaille Mathis, and Olivia Theon in that order. Minot kept close in the shootout, missing only twice giving them the advantage sending them to the NSIC Championship match against Bemidji on Sunday.
