MANKATO, Minn. —- The Minnesota State women's swimming and diving team won three events against South Dakota on Friday evening but fell to the Coyotes by the team score of 184-115.
MSU owns a 0-1 record in dual action this season.
The Mavericks won both diving events during the dual. Senior Ayla Taylor won the 1-meter diving event with a score of 242.90, while junior Carla Gutierrez Anaya won the 3-meter diving event with a score of 243.0.
Sophomore Abby Gronholz won the 100 backstroke event with a time of 1:00.00.
Freshman Megan Schultz took second place in two events including the 200 breaststroke (2:26.71) and the 200 IM (2:15.87). Senior Nicole Beckman finished second in both the 100 butterfly (58.35) and the 200 butterfly (2:17.66) events as well.
The 200 freestyle relay team of Olivia Hudoba, Kolby Schendel, Mail Carriveau and Brooke Shell finished second with a time of 1:40.83.
Minnesota State continues its season on Saturday, October 15, as it takes on St. Cloud State and Truman State at 1:00 p.m. The diving events will take place at Highland Pool, while the swimming events will take place in Rochester, Minn.
