Mavericks Unveil 2021-22 Schedule

2021_22_mh_sked_schedule_x   Mankato, Minn. --- About to embark upon the first season of the newly-constituted Central Collegiate Hockey Association, Minnesota State unveiled its 2021-22 schedule today.

After starting the year with a pair of nonconference weekends with St. Cloud State visiting Oct. 8-9 and two games at the Ice Breaker Tournament in Duluth Oct. 15-16, the Mavericks open CCHA action Oct. 29-30 with Northern Michigan visiting Mayo Clinic Health System Event Center. A road series at Ferris State is next (Nov. 5-6) before Bowling Green visits the Key City Nov. 12-13. Minnesota State hosts St. Thomas Nov. 18 before traveling to St. Paul to play the Tommies Nov. 20. A road trip to Sault Ste. Marie, Mich., for games at Lake Superior State (Nov. 26-27) close out the month of November.

The Mavericks host Michigan Tech Dec. 3-4 and are at Bemidji State Dec. 10-11.  A nonconference home-and-home series with Minnesota Duluth Dec. 30 and Jan 1 serves as a precursor to the next league series, which is slated for Jan. 7-8 with a home series vs. Ferris State on the docket. The Mavericks are at Northern Michigan Jan. 14-15 and at St. Thomas Jan. 20 before an outdoor home game vs. St. Thomas Jan. 22 at historic Blakeslee Stadium for Hockey Day Minnesota. 

The Mavericks host Arizona State for nonconference games Jan. 28-29 and a road trip to Bowling Green looms Feb. 4-5. Bemidji State makes the trip south for games Feb. 18-19 and the Mavericks close out the 2021-22 regular season with a road trip to Houghton, Mich., for a pair of games at Michigan Tech Feb. 25-26.

Including the game vs. St. Thomas at Blakeslee Stadium, the Mavericks have 17 home contests scheduled for the 2021-22 regular season.

Minnesota State is coming off a season in which it finished with a 22-5-1 mark, won the Western Collegiate Hockey Association regular-season title with a 13-1-0 league ledger and beat Quinnipiac and Minnesota to claim the NCAA West Regional championship en route to its first appearance at the NCAA Frozen Four.
