SARTELL, Minn. --- The Minnesota State women's tennis team dropped a 7-2 dual to the College of Saint Benedict Friday evening on the road.
MSU now owns an overall record of 1-7, while CSB improves to 1-0.
CSB won all three of the doubles matches to take an early 3-0 lead. Freshmen
Abigail Clayton and
Sarah Johansen put up the best effort in the No. 3 doubles match, but they fell to Jane Bodensteiner and Maria Bedford by the score of 8-5.
The Mavericks were able to win two of the six singles matches as the Bennies locked down a 7-2 dual victory. Sophomore
Kjerstin Hall won the No. 4 singles match by the scores of 2-6, 6-3, 10-8 against Grace Lee, while Johansen bested Bedford 6-4, 6-2 in the No. 6 singles match.
Minnesota State continues its road trip this Saturday as it takes on St. Cloud State in a nonconference dual at 1:30 p.m.
