MANKATO, Minn. --- It proved to be all Minnesota State Friday afternoon at The Pitch as the Mavericks recorded a 5-0 shutout of Upper Iowa as junior
Jenny Vetter netted a career-best four goals.
With the win, the Mavericks improve to 7-2-1 on the season, including a 5-1-1 NSIC record. With the loss, the Peacocks drop to 5-4-0, including a 3-4-0 conference record. MSU has won its last four outings, while out scoring its opponents 13-0.
The first half saw the Mavericks jump out to an early 3-0 lead as Vetter posted goals during the 14th, 21st and 26th minutes. Sophomore

Maille Mathis assisted on one.
MSU picked up one more goal in the closing minutes of the first half as junior Nadia Lowery found the back of the net in the 42nd minute for her second goal of the season.
The lone goal of the second half came early in the 47th minute as Vetter scored her fourth goal, with Williams garnering her third assist of the match. With her four goals, Vetter became just the third Maverick in program history to score four goals in a match. Amber Dusosky scored five goals against Missouri S&T during the 2000 season, while Nikki Knautt scored four against Bemidji State in 1997.
Neither team would score in the final 42 minutes of the match as the Mavericks posted a 5-0 win for their sixth shutout of the season.

Mackenzie Rath and freshman
Ava Blackney combined for the shutout as Rath improved to 3-1-1 on the season.
As a unit, Minnesota State outshot the Peacocks 21-3, including eight shots on goal compared to two shots on goal for UIU. MSU also enjoyed an 8-3 advantage in corner kicks.
Minnesota State continues its homestand on Sunday as it takes on the Winona State Warriors at 1:00 p.m.
