MOORHEAD, Minn. --- The Minnesota State women's swimming and diving team won a total of 14 events as it bested MSU Moorhead 231-63 Saturday afternoon.
With the win, the Mavericks improve to 3-0 in dual action this season, while the Dragons drop to 1-1.
Juniors
Katie Streiff and
Emily Goodman, along with freshman
Olivia Meinberg, each won a pair of individual events. Streiff took first in the 50 butterfly (27.13) and the 100 IM (1:02.34), while Goodman won the 50 and 100 breaststroke events with times of 31.26 and 1:07.60, respectively. Meinberg took the top spot in the 50 freestyle (25.10) and the 100 backstroke (1:00.22) also.
In the diving events, sophomore
Ayla Taylor claimed first place in the 1-meter diving event with a score of 208.55, while freshman
Ella Kelm took first in the 3-meter diving event with a score of 196.90.
Freshman
Madison Kemp finished first in the 800 freestyle with a time of 8:51.75, while junior
Anja Enervold took first in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:58.76. Freshman
Elise Mishmash won the 100 freestyle (55.66) also, while freshman
Ella DeFever won the 400 freestyle. (4:14.14). Senior
Tori Roth claimed the top finish in the 50 backstroke with a time of 28.60 as well.
The Mavericks also won the 200 medley relay event as the team of Enervold, Goodman, Streiff and Meinberg turned in a time of 1:49.86.
The Mavericks return to action on the road this Thursday as they take on the St. Cloud State Huskies. The diving events are scheduled to begin at 5:00 p.m., with the swimming events set to follow at 6:00 p.m.
