Off the Hop
Minnesota State stands 26-4-2 overall and are 20-3-1 WCHA. Last action for the Mavericks was Feb. 7-8 when they picked up 7-3 and 1-0 wins over Northern Michigan.

The Mavericks have won 21 of their last 25 games and are rated third in this week's USCHO poll.

Vs. The Chargers
Minnesota State resumes action this Friday and Saturday when Alabama Huntsville visits the Key City.  In a series that dates back to 1988-89, the Mavericks stand 37-17-7 all-tme vs. the Chargers. Including 4-1 and 5-1 wins back in October, Minnesota State has won the last ten meetings between the two schools. The last win in the series by UAH came during the 2002-03 season and since then the Mavericks have gone 26-0-4 vs. the Chargers.

Behind the Bench
Minnesota State has gone 209-84-23 under the tutelage of head coach Mike Hastings, who is in his eighth season in charge of the Mavericks. No program in the nation has won more games (209) during the time Hastings has been behind the MSU bench.

Casting a Net
Sophomore Dryden McKay, who was named Western Collegiate Hockey Association Goaltender of the Week for the sixth time this year following the home league sweep over Northern Michigan, picked up his eighth shutout of the season by stopping all 22 shots in a 1-0 triumph over the Wildcats Feb. 8.  The shutout gives McKay a school-record 12 for his Minnesota State career. For the year, McKay stands 25-3-2 (25 wins leads nation) with a 1.37  goals against average (leads nation), .939 save percentage (ranks second in the nation) and eight shutouts (leads nation). This is the tenth time in his career and sixth time this year that McKay has picked up WCHA Goaltender of the Week award.

Blue Line Cafe
Junior defenseman Connor Mackey stayed hot offensively by picking up a goal and an assist in the series vs. Northern Michigan two weekends ago. Mackey, who has 5-17--22 in 30 games played this year, has registered 2-8--10 in the last nine games.  The Tower Lakes, Ill., native has 16-43--59 with 195 shots on goal, a +44 rating and 86 blocked shots in 112 career games.

Repdigit
In addition to three goals, junior center Jared Spooner also had seven shots on goal and 18 face-off wins in the series vs. Northern Michigan. Spooner, who has 9-10--19 in 31 games this year, scored the lone goal in the 1-0 victory over the Wildcats (his second career game-winning goal).

Theme Park
Senior forward Parker Tuomie contributed two assists in Minnesota State's 7-3 win over Northern Michigan in upping his season totals to  11-19--30.  Tuomie now has 42-83--125 in 146 games for his four-year Minnesota State career with his 125 points ranking eighth on Minnesota State's career point-scoring list.

Cleveland Rocks
Senior forward Charlie Gerard had a goal and an assist in Minnesota State's 7-3 win over Northern Michigan in raising his season totals to  12-12--24 in 31 games played.  His goal vs. the Wildcats is the second game-winning tally this year and the sixth GWG of his career. For his four-year Minnesota State career, Gerard has posted 29-35--64 in 115 games.

Forward Thinking
Sophomore forward Julian Napravnik chipped in with two assists in Minnesota State's 7-3 win over Northern Michigan and now has 7-13--20 in 29 games played this year.  For his two-year college career Napravnik has a line of 15-26--41 in 70 career games.

Puck's Not Gonna Shoot Itself
Junior forward Reggie Lutz, who ranks third on the Mavericks with 84 shots on goal, had a goal and an assist in Minnesota State's 7-3 win over Northern Michigan on Feb. 7.  Lutz has 10-7--17 in 32 games this year and has 24-36--60 in 107 career games played.

Rushmore Account
Junior winger Walker Duehr had two assists in Minnesota State's 7-3 victory over Northern Michigan and added a helper on Jared Spooner's game-winner in Saturday's 1-0 victory.  Now with 2-8--10 in 26 games this year, the Sioux Falls, S.D., product has 14-15--29 68 career games.

Gerads Jottings
Junior winger Dallas Gerads, who had a goal and an assist for a two-point weekend in the series vs. Northern Michigan two weekends ago, has extended his point-scoring streak to six games during which he's accumulated 4-3--7.  His season totals are 6-14--20 in 27 games played and for his three-year career, the Blaine, Minn., native has 25-30--55 in 91 games played.

Nick Knack
Senior captain Nick Rivera, who scored his second shorthanded goal of the season in Minnesota State's 7-3 victory over Northern Michigan on Feb. 7, has six shorties to his credit for his four-year Minnesota State career. The Pacific Palisades, Calif., native owns 30-25--55 numbers in 145 games played.

IS-D
Senior defenseman Ian Scheid hasn't missed a game in his four years with the Mavericks and the Coon Rapids, Minn., native owns 23-68--91 numbers in 153 career games in standing tied for fourth on Minnesota State's career scoring list for defensemen.  His 153 games played is tied for tenth on the school's career games played list.

Land of the Living Skies
Senior defenseman Edwin Hookenson collected two assists in Minnesota State's 7-3 win over Northern Michigan on Feb. 7.  Hookenson, who had one shot on goal, was +2 with four blocked shots on the series vs. the Wildcats, has 3-7--10 on the year and 8-20--28 in 118 career games.
