Mavericks Add Five Recruits to 2020-21 Roster
The Mavericks announced that five student-athletes have signed national letters of intent and will join the roster for the 2020-21 campaign:  defensemen Akito Hirose (Calgary, Alta./Salmon Arm (BCHL)) and Jake Livingstone (Creston, B.C./Langley (BCHL)) and forwards Connor Gregga (Markham, Ont./Coquitlam (BCHL)), Ondrej Pavel (Prague, Czech Rep./Fargo (USHL)) and Brendan Furry (Toledo,  Ohio./Tri-City (USHL)).

Akito Hirose, Defense, 6-0, 170, Calgary, Alta./Salmon Arm (BCHL)
Serving as captain with Salmon Arm of the British Columbia Hockey League this year where he leads the league in defensemen scoring four goals and 24 assists for 28 points in 23 games...Registered 30 points on four goals and 26 assists in 52 games with the Silverbacks in 2018-19, a season in which he was named the team's Top Defenseman...Four-year veteran with Salmon Arm...Product of the Edge School program in Calgary, Alberta.

Jake Livingstone, Defense, 6-4, 205, Creston, B.C./Langley (BCHL)
In fourth season with Langley of the British Colombia Hockey League where he is serving as an alternate captain...Ranks second in the BCHL in defensemen scoring with 6-18--24 in 22 games played...Including six power play goals and two shorthanded goals, had 10-28--38 in 56 games played and was named Most Valuable Player with the Rivermen in 2018-19.
