Mankato, Minn. — A quartet of student-athletes from the 2017-18 Minnesota State men's hockey team have been named as Krampade All-American Scholars, the American Hockey Coaches Association announced last Friday.
To qualify as a Krampade All-American Scholar a student-athlete must have attained a grade-point-average of 3.6 in both semesters of the 2017-18 season while participating in at least 40 percent of the games played by the team during the season.
Mavericks recognized included Max Coatta (Jr., F, Minnetonka, Minn.); Edwin Hookenson (So., D, Lampman, Sask.); Jack McNeely (Fr., D, Lakeville, Minn.); and Jared Spooner (Fr., F, Bismarck, N.D.).
Minnesota State is scheduled to open the 2018-19 season Oct. 6 with an exhibition home game vs. Mount Royal University (Alta.).
