Off the Hop: Minnesota State (19-7-0 overall, 15-5-0 WCHA) hosts the University of Alaska Anchorage (2-20-4, 2-15-3 WCHA) in a two-game Western Collegiate Hockey Association series this weekend. Face-off between the Mavericks and the Seawolves both Friday and Saturday at Verizon Center (4,832) is slated for 7:07 p.m. CST.
About the Minnesota State-Alaska Anchorage Series:Â Â Â Â Minnesota State which earned 5-2 and 4-1 wins at UAA earlier this month, stands 49-25-9 all-time versus the Seawolves and have gone 8-1-1 in the last ten meeting between the two programs. The series between the Mavericks and the Seawolves dates back to the 1982-83 season.
Minnesota State Most Recently: Rated seventh this week by USCHO.com and USA Today/USA Hockey, Minnesota State played twice last week, winning both times. Minnesota State All-Time: The Minnesota State men's hockey program, begun in 1969-70, completed its 48th year of competition last year. The Mavericks are in their 22nd year as members of NCAA Division I and in their 19th season as members of the Western Collegiate Hockey Association. The Mavericks sport an all-time record of 877-642-153. (.570).
C.J. Suess Notes: Senior captain C.J. Suess leads Minnesota State in scoring with 14-17--31 (his 31 points is tied for 13th in the country) and stands as Minnesota State's active career scoring leader with 115 points on 49 goals and 66 assists. Suess's 115 points stand seventh on the school's career scoring list for the DI-era. Suess, who has seen action in 143 career games, has played in 114 consecutive games.
Zeb Knutson Notes:Â Senior forward Zeb Knutson, who has a career-high 18 assists and points with 28 this year, has 4-9--13 in the last 12 games. The Sioux Falls, S.D., native as 33-40--73 in 114 career games with the Mavericks.
Clint Lewis Notes: Senior defenseman Clint Lewis drew an assist on Jake Jaremko's game-winner in 5-2 win at St. Cloud State (Jan. 20), has 0-4--4 with 14 shots on goal and a +13 rating in 23 games played in 2017-18.
Brad McClure Notes: Senior forward Brad McClure, who ranks as Minnesota State's active career games played leader with 145 appearances, owns a consecutive games played streak of 120. McClure owns 40-43--83 numbers for his four-year Minnesota State career to tie for 25th on the school's all-time scoring list (DI-era).
Aaron Nelson Notes: Three-year letterwinner (2014-15, 2015-16, 2016-17) is a two-time WCHA All-Academic selection and two-time WCHA Scholar- Athlete honoree...Named WCHA Defensive Player of the Week following two wins at Alabama Huntsville (Jan. 6-7), started six games for the Mavericks Jan. 6-Jan. 21... Daniel Brickley Notes: Junior defenseman Daniel Brickley is a four-time WCHA Defensive Player of the Week honoree this year. Brickley, who has 7-17-24 on the season, is tied for fourth in the nation in points by defensemen. Brickley has 17-49--66 in 93 career games to stand tied for 11th on Minnesota State's career scoring list by defensemen (he's tied for eighth for the NCAA DI era).
Max Coatta Notes: Junior forward Max Coatta notched first career hat trick when he scored three times in Minnesota State's 8-6 win at Bemidji State Nov. 11. Coatta has 4-5--9 in 26 games played this year, has 15-20--35, 177 shots on goal and is +12 in 100 career games with the Mavericks.

Parker Tuomie Notes: Sophomore forward Parker Tuomie, who has at least one point in nine of the last 12 games and has tallied 6-10--16 during that time, has 7-15--22 on the season to rank sixth on the team scoring charts. Tuomie, who's fifth on the team with 63 shots on goal and stands tied for the team power play goal lead with five, hasn't missed a game in his two-year Minnesota State career.
