St. Cloud, Minn. ---
Alesha Duccini scored her first goal of 2017 and No. 15 Minnesota State soccer shut out St. Cloud State 1-0 in a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference match on Sunday afternoon at Husky Stadium.
Duccini, a sophomore midfielder, scored the only goal of the match at the 8:44 mark. After a cross was blocked in front of the goal, Duccini was the first one to the loose ball and she deposited it into the back of the net to give the Mavericks the 1-0 lead that they would not relinquish.
Minnesota State (4-1-0, 2-0-0 NSIC), which outshot St. Cloud State (2-4-0, 0-3-0 NSIC) 18-7, garnered its fourth shutout of the season.
Junior goalkeeper
Taylor Livermore (2-0-0), made two saves to garner her second shutout in as many starts this season.
Kelsey Christian (1-3-0) made four saves in net for the Huskies.
The Mavericks return home to face Sioux Falls at 1:00 p.m., on Friday at The Pitch.
