Mankato, Minn. --- Minnesota State soccer cruised to a 3-0 victory in an exhibition match with St. Catherine University at The Pitch on Wednesday evening.
Minnesota State, which received goals from Sophomore forward
Taylor Kenealy, and junior forwards
Morgan Cottew and
Lauren Kizlik, outshot St. Catherine — an NCAA DIII institution — 26-2 and held a 10-1 edge in shots on goal.
After the game was scoreless for much of the first half, Kenealy broke the stalemate at 42:02 — giving the Mavericks a 1-0 lead going into halftime. After the intermission, Cottew doubled the Minnesota State lead — scoring at 50:04. Kizlik, who found the back of the net for the second-straight exhibition match, capped off the scoring at 61:57.

Julia Zach, sophomore midfielder
Alesha Duccini and Kizlik each garnered an assist.
The Mavericks had three goalkeepers share time in net. Junior
Taylor Livermore started in goal, followed by sophomores
Ryann Rydeen and
Alexa Rabune.
Minnesota State wraps up its exhibition schedule with a match against NCAA DIII institution Gustavus Adolphus on Friday at 5:00 p.m., at The Pitch.
