Franklin in giving Nelson all the offense he would need.  Freshman forward Parker Tuomie pounced on a loose puck at the 16:33 mark of the second period for his fourth goal of the yearas the Mavericks extended their lead to 2-0 and McClure sealed the win with his second goal of the night and tenth of the year going into an empty net at 17:42.

Freshman forward Marc Michaelis, named the WCHA Rookie of the Month for December and HCA National Rookie of the Month for December, assisted on McClure's first goal in running his point-scoring streak to four games. The Mannheim, Germany product stands atop the Minnesota State scoring charts with 27 points on 10 goals and 17 assists for the year.
