Huntsville, Ala. --- Junior goaltender
Aaron Nelson was perfect in making his college debut as 19
th-rated Minnesota State skated to a 3-0 victory over Alabama Huntsville Friday in Western Collegiate Hockey Association action in Huntsville, Ala.
Nelson, a Bismarck, N.D., native, who was a WCHA All-Academic selection a year ago, turned aside all 18 UAH shots in his first career start in leading the Mavericks to the win.

Brad McClure scored the game's first goal at 6:11 of the opening period after taking a nice feed from
C.J. Franklin in giving Nelson all the offense he would need. Freshman forward
Parker Tuomie pounced on a loose puck at the 16:33 mark of the second period for his fourth goal of the yearas the Mavericks extended their lead to 2-0 and McClure sealed the win with his second goal of the night and tenth of the year going into an empty net at 17:42.

Marc Michaelis, named the WCHA Rookie of the Month for December and HCA National Rookie of the Month for December, assisted on McClure's first goal in running his point-scoring streak to four games. The Mannheim, Germany product stands atop the Minnesota State scoring charts with 27 points on 10 goals and 17 assists for the year.
The Mavericks owned a 33-18 advantage in shots on goal in the game, while both teams finished the game with a zero-for-two performance with the man advantage.
Now 12-7-2 overall and 8-5-2 WCHA for the season, the Mavericks finish the two-game league series at UAH Saturday night with a 7:07 p.m. face-off scheduled at Von Braun Center.
