Mankato, Minn. --- Minnesota State women's soccer travels to Winona State for a 6:00 p.m., match on Friday, before concluding the regular season with a match against Upper Iowa on 1:00 p.m., Sunday at The Pitch. The Mavericks are celebrating Senior Day on Sunday.
Looking Back at Last Week: Minnesota State (11-3-2, 10-2-1 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference) went 1-0-1 in two NSIC matches at The Pitch. The Mavericks played No. 11 Minot State to a 1-1 draw on Saturday before defeating U-Mary 4-3 on Sunday.
On the Offensive: After scoring four goals in their first four matches combined, the Mavericks have tallied 36 goals over their last 12 matches -- an average of 3.00 goals per match. Over that time period, Minnesota State has garnered a 10-1-1 record, while outscoring its opponents 36-7. Minnesota State is first in the NSIC in goals per match (2.50) and shots (333). The Mavericks are tied for 15th in NCAA DII with 40 total goals.
None Shall Score: The Maverick defense has propelled Minnesota State to a tie for the 9th-highest shutout percentage (.688) in NCAA DII. Minnesota State leads the NSIC in shutouts (11) and shutout percentage, and is second in the NSIC with a .791 goals against average.

Kiana Nickel became the fifth student-athlete in program history to eclipse the 100 point plateau. Nickel reached the 100 point milestone in the Mavericks' 4-3 win over U-Mary on Sunday. She had one assist -- the 30th of her career -- and one goal -- her 35th as a Maverick. Nickel is two assists away from tying for the most assists in Maverick history. The record of 32 career assists is held by Amanda Burrows (1998-2001) and Brianne West (2009-12).
Jenny and the Mavs: Junior midfielder
Jenny Hoerter scored two goals, including the game-winning score, in the Mavericks' 4-3 win over U-Mary on Sunday afternoon. Hoerter has four goals and two assists for 10 points in 2016. She has 10 goals and 11 assists for 31 points in her time as a Maverick.
New Horns: Freshman midfielder
Alesha Duccini and freshman forward
Taylor Kenealy have been regular contributors on the offensive side of the ball. Duccini, who scored the Mavericks' lone goal against Minot State on Saturday, has recorded 19 points -- the third most amongst Mavericks -- on seven goals and five assists. Kenealy, who garnered an assist against U-Mary, has tallied five goals and five assists for 15 points -- the fourth-highest point total by a Maverick.

Scouting Winona State: The Warriors (7-8-1, 4-8-1 NSIC) have lost three of their last five matches, including a 1-0 loss to Northern State on Sunday in Winona, Minn.
The Warriors are led on offense by Abby Bohanski -- the 2015 NSIC Freshman of the Year. Bohanski leads the team in goals (8) and points (19).
Scouting Upper Iowa: The Peacocks (8-7-0, 7-6-0 NSIC) have lost three of their last five matches, but are coming off of a 2-0 win over MSU Moorhead on Sunday at home.
Maggie Olson, Brianne Fenton and Birgit Rjinders are tied for the team lead in goals (3). Rjinders leads the Peacocks in assists (3) and points (9).
Facing Winona State: The Mavericks are 11-14-1 all-time against the Warriors, but Minnesota State has won four of the last five meetings in the series. Last season, the Mavericks won the regular season match 2-1 at The Pitch. In the conference tournament, the two teams tied with Winona State winning the shootout.
Facing Upper Iowa: The Mavericks are 7-1-2 all-time against the Peacocks, including wins in each of the last five meetings. Last season, Minnesota State won 4-0 at The Pitch.
