MANKATO, Minn. --- The Minnesota State soccer team won its second preseason match of the season by shutting out Hamline University by a score of 2-0 Sunday evening.
The exhibition match took place in St. Paul Sunday night over the course of three thirty minute periods. Â
The Mavericks took charge right away in the first period and didn't look back. Senior forward
Korey Kronforst (Cary, Ill.) continued on her scoring ways in preseason play with a snipe from the outside just three minutes into the match. Junior defenseman
Sidni Trotter (Omaha, Neb.) followed suit a few minutes later taking a pass from freshman forward/midfielder
Julia Zach (Oconomowoc, Wis.) and blasting it over the Piper goalkeeper's head taking MSU into the second stanza with a 2-0 lead.
The final two frames did not see any scoring action from either side. Throughout the rest of the match, Minnesota State saw action from a plethera of players at all positions.
Minnesota State will continue preseason action next Sunday, August 30th for its final match of the preseason as they host the Elite Girls Academy out of Omaha at The Pitch with kickoff set for 1 p.m.
