Bryce Gervais got his eighth goal of the season when he tallied with the Mavericks shorthanded at 12:01. The goal by Gervais is the fourth shorthanded goal by Minnesota State in the last seven games. A blast from the point from freshman

A scoreless middle frame was followed by a power play goal from Gervais when he finished off a breakaway chance at 12:37 of the third stanza.

Cole Huggins stopped all 17 UAH shots for his third shutout of the season and now stands 14-7-1 for the year. The game was played in front of 3,127 fans.
MSU, which has won its last four games, now stands 18-13-0, 16-7-0 WCHA for 2013-14. The Chargers fall to 1-29-0, 1-20-1 WCHA.
The two teams close out the two-game league series Saturday with a 7:07 p.m. face-off scheduled at Verizon Wireless Center in downtown Mankato.
