MANKATO, Minn.--- No. 2 Minnesota State continued its dominance of the 2014 season by extending its win streak to 12 games with a 3-0 win over the University of Mary on Sunday afternoon in Bismark, N.D.

With the win the Minnesota State Soccer team improves its record to 12-0-0 and 9-0-0 in conference play while the Marauders fall to 3-6-3 and 2-5-2 in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference.

The Mavericks got things rolling in the 12th minute of the first half when senior Emily Moris booted a corner kick to the front of the net where junior Korey Kronforst kicked in her tenth goal of the season.

MSU outshot UMary 7-1 in the first half with three of the Mavericks shots getting saved by Marauder goalkeeper Shelby Buttron.

Minnesota State was able to build on their lead in the second half when sophomore Dana Savino capitalized for the sixth time of the season on a penalty kick opportunity. The goal that was scored in the 54th minute of the game went into the lower right side of the net. The Mavericks solidified the win with their third goal on a rebound that was scored by freshman Jenny Hoerter with the initial shot coming from senior Rebecca Pederson in the 82nd minute.

The Mavericks outshot the Marauders 15-2 and a 7-1 shots on goal advantage. MSU also led in the corner kicks department with a 7-3 margin.

Senior goalkeeper Molly McGough improved her record to 10-0-0 and recorded one save on the day.

MSU is set to play their next game against Wayne State University at home on October 18th. The game is set to start at 1 p.m. in Mankato.
