Box Score MINOT, N.D. --- The second-rated Minnesota State Soccer team defeat Minot State University 3-1 Saturday afternoon in Minot N.D.
With the win the Mavericks moved to 11-0-0 on the season and 8-0-0 in the NSIC which is the best start in school history. The Beavers drop to 4-5-2 and 3-4-1 on the league circuit.
Senior
Emily Moris got the scoring going on the afternoon. Moris had a booming kick straight out from twenty yards that found the left corner of the net to put the Mavericks up 1-0 at the 25 minute mark. Minot State would answer in the 32nd minute as
Kristin Long was able to get one by MSU goalkeeper
Molly McGough to bring the score to 1-1 at the half.
MSU outshot MISU 15-3 in the first half and held the advantage on corner kicks 6-0.
The Mavericks took the lead in the second half in the 73rd minute. Senior
Sydney Temple set up Rebecca Pederson for her first goal of the season which proved to be the game-winning goal. Sophomore
Sidni Trotter would add a third goal unassisted in the 78th minute to seal the deal for MSU.
The Mavericks outshot the Beavers 29-4 and had 10 shots on goal. They also had 10 corner kicks while not allowing and to the Beavers.

Molly McGough moves to 9-0-0 and did not record a save on the afternoon.
The Mavericks will continue play tomorrow as they take on the University of Mary in Bismarck N.D. Opening kick will is slated for 1 p.m.
