Burnsville, Minn. --- The duo of
Keyvan Rudd and
Jerrell Hancock garnered
NSIC Field Athlete of the Week and
NSIC Track Athlete of the Week honors, respectively, for their efforts at the MSU Alumni Open.
Rudd provisionally qualified in the high jump for the NCAA Championships with a leap of 7' 0.25", which is currently the highest mark in all of Division II helping him earn NSIC Male Field Athlete of the Week honors for the second time in his collegiate career.
Hancock posted an automatic qualifier mark in the 200-meter dash with a time of 21.67, which currently puts him in the top spot for all of Division II. He also met the provisional-qualifying standard in the 60-meter dash as he finished in first-place with a time of 6.84. This is the third time Hancock has been named NSIC Track Athlete of the Week.
The Mavericks return to action Saturday as they compete in the Northwest Open in Minneapolis.
