Minnesota State Extends Winning Streak to Five Games With Home League Sweep over Northern Michigan; Lehrke Continues With Hot Hand; Huggins Racks up Pair Of Wins & Second Career Shut-Out; Road Trip to Alabama-Huntsville Looms

On Tap:    Minnesota State (9-7-0 overall, 7-3-0 WCHA) continues Western Collegiate Hockey Association action this Friday and Saturday with a pair of road games at Alabama-Huntsville (1-15-0, 1-9-0 WCHA). MSU and UAH play at Von Braun Center (6,600) Friday (7:07 p.m.) and Saturday (7:07 p.m.) EST.

About the MSU-UAH Series:    MSU owns an all-time record of 17-17-4 in the series with the Chargers. The Mavericks stand 8-0-2 in the last ten meetings with UAH.

MSU Most Recently:  Winners of its last five games, Minnesota State claimed 3-2 and 3-0 home wins over Northern Michigan last Friday and Saturday. The wins marked the second consecutive home sweep over a conference opponent.

About the Chargers:  Alabama-Huntsville enters this weekend coming off of a road league split at Bowling Green.

The Chargers, who dropped a 3-0 decision before earning a 4-3 overtime win at Bowling Green last weekend, is led offensively by freshman forward Matt Salhany (2-4--6), sophomore defenseman Frank Misuraca (1-4--5) and senior forward Alex Allan (3-1--4). Freshmen Matt Larose (0-8-0, .875, 5.00) and Carmine Guerriero (1-7-0, .903, 3.41) have split the UAH netminding duties.

Head coach Mike Corbett (Denver '96) is in his first year as a college head coach and at Alabama-Huntsville.

What?: The Mavericks, who had gone 4-for-46 (.086) on the power play through the first ten games of the year, have gone 12-for-30 (.400) with the man advantage in the last six contests.

MSU enters the series with UAH ranking 22nd in the nation in power play (.200) and is sixth in the nation in penalty kill percentage with an 87.3% mark (62/71).
