Box Score Mankato, Minn. ---  Six different Mavericks scored as Minnesota State used a balanced attack to stay perfect in the NSIC with a 6-0 romp over MSU-Moorhead.  Senior midfielder Nicole Dooher led the way with a goal and two assists, while junior midfielder Tori Meinhardt tied a school-record with three assists in a single match. Five Mavericks collected three or more points in the match.

Just five minutes into the game, junior forward Courtney Vallarelli put her first goal of the season into the upper right corner after a pass from Dooher. Five minutes later, Dooher netted a goal of her own off a great assist from Meinhardt.

Sophomore midfielder Sydney Temple finished off the first half for MSU with her second goal of the season in the 33rd minute.  Minnesota State outshot the Dragons 10-1 in the first half.

The fast and furious offensive attack continued in the second half for the Mavericks when  a shot in the 54th minute by Meinhardt bounced off the keeper’s gloves just enough for senior forward Brittany Henry to put it away for her third goal of the season.

Senior Brianne West tied for the team-high with her fourth goal of the year in the 71st minute thanks to assists from Temple and sophomore midfielder Emily Moris.

MSU wrapped-up it’s scoring barage in the 80th minute as sophomore forward Jessica Bowe got into the scoring column with her second goal of the season.

Minnesota State earned a 28-2 shot advantage for the match and has now outscored conference opponents 24-2 in just five matches this year.

Sophomore goalkeeper Molly McGough made two saves to record her third consecutive shutout.  The shutout marks the 14th of McGough’s career and moves her into a tie with Jennie Dehamer for second in MSU history.

Minnesota State (6-1-1, 5-0-0 NSIC) will be back in action Saturday Sept. 29th when it heads to Bismarck to take on U-Mary in a battle between two of the Northern Sun’s best teams.
