Box Score Mankato, Minn. --- The Minnesota State women’s soccer team stayed unbeaten in conference play on a chilly Saturday afternoon as five different Mavericks scored in a 6-0 win over Northern State that extended it’s home-unbeaten streak to a new school-record of 18 consecutive games dating back to 2010.
Senior midfielder
Cassie Weik continued her fantastic play when she got Minnesota State on the scoreboard in the 21st minute. Weik scored her third goal in the last two games - all off free kicks - as she blasted the kick off the left post and into the net.
Minnesota State controlled the first half outshooting the Wolves 11-1 but was unable to add to the lead.
Five minutes into the second half, the Mavericks capitalized as senior forward
Nicole Dooher got behind the Northern State backline for her second goal of the season.
MSU continued its dominance on the offensive end in the second half as junior midfielder

Brianne West scored their second and third goals of the year, respectively, a mere five mintues apart.
Senior forward
Brittany Henry - named NSIC Preseason Offensive Player of the Year - broke out scoring her first two goals of the season in the final ten minutes. Henry also tallied two assists giving her six points for the match, the most for any Maverick in a single game this season.
Sophomore goalkeeper
Molly McGough made one save and posted her second consecutive shutout, which ties her for second in MSU history with 14 for her career. Minnesota State’s stifling defense continued as it has allowed only two goals in the last five games.
The Mavericks outshot the Wolves 17-1 in the second half and 28-2 for the match.
Minnesota State (5-1-1, 4-0-0 NSIC) hosts MSU-Moorhead (2-3-1, 1-1-1 NSIC) in tomorrow’s weekend finale at 1 p.m. at the Pitch at Gage Towers which concludes a six-game homestand for MSU.
