On Tap: Minnesota State (3-5-2 overall, 1-5-0 WCHA) resumes Western Collegiate Hockey Association action this weekend with a pair of league games at the University of Wisconsin (1-5-2, 1-3-2 WCHA). MSU and UW play in Madison at Kohl Center (15,325) Friday (7:07 p.m.) and Saturday (7:07 p.m.).
Rankled: Including this week, the Mavericks have appeared in the “receiving votes” category of the USCHO.poll in six of the last seven weeks. (see page 5 of this release for additional poll information).
About the MSU-UW Series: MSU stands 15-23-4 in the all-time series vs. Wisconsin. MSU split last year’s series with the Badgers, dropping a 4-0 decision before claiming a 3-0 win the next night in a pair of games played in Mankato.
MSU Most Recently: The Mavericks stand 3-5-2 overall and are 1-5-0 WCHA in their most-recent action - a pair on one-goal losses to third-rated Denver (4-3 and 3-2), Nov. 9-10 in Mankato.
Wisconsin Most Recently: The Badgers are 1-5-2 overall and 1-3-2 WCHA after a 2-2 tie and 3-1 loss at the University of Minnesota last weekend.

MSU All-Time: The Minnesota State men’s hockey program, begun in 1969-70, completed its 43rd year of competition last year. The Mavericks are in their 17th year as members of NCAA Division I and in their 14th season as members of the Western Collegiate Hockey Association. With a total of 1,455 games played, the Mavericks sport an all-time record of 739-578-136 (.555).
