Mankato, Minn. --- The Minnesota State women’s swimming and diving team suffered a 174-124 loss to St. Cloud State Saturday afternoon in its first home swimming meet in the Highland Pool on the campus of Minnesota State University.
Individually, MSU won six races, including three by junior
Nicole Blum. Blum picked up a victory in the 1,000-yard freestyle with a time of 10:56.14 in addition to winning the 50-yard backstroke in :29.06 and the 500-yard freestyle in 5:22.16.
Other Maverick winners include senior
Megan Pickert who won the 100-yard freestyle in :55.32, senior
Stefanie Edwards who won the 200-yard freestyle in 2:00.51 and senior
Emily Timm who won the 200-yard IM in 2:15.43.

Additionally, MSU finished third and fifth in the 200-yard medley relay with times of 1:53.41 and 1:55.68. In the 400-yard freestyle, MSU scored points by finishing second (3:47.50) and third (3:48.53).
The Mavericks return to the pool next weekend as it travels to UW-Stevens Point Invite.
