Face-off at Verizon Wireless Center (4,852) is slated for 7:37 p.m. Friday and 7:07 p.m. Saturday.
About the MSU-UW Series: These games represent the only regular-season games between the two schools. MSU, which has lost the last four meetings with UW, trails in the series 22-14-4.
Most Recently: Minnesota State split a nonconference series at St. Lawrence last weekend (4-3 loss and 3-1 win) in running its record for 2011-12 to 6-15-1 overall. MSU has gone 3-3-0 in its last six contests.
About Wisconsin: Wisconsin stands 9-9-2 overall, 4-8-2 WCHA on the year and is coming off a weekend in which claimed a home nonconference sweep over RIT (6-3 and 2-1 wins).
The Badgers are led offensively by junior defenseman Justin Schultz (11-21--32), who a second-round draft pick of Anaheim in 2008 who led all NCAA defensemen in scoring last year with 18-29--47. Sophomore forward Mark Zengerle has 8-23--31 and sophomore forward Tyler Barnes owns 7-12--19.
A pair of freshmen in Joel Rumpel (6-4-2, .905, 2.94) and Landon Peterson (3-5-0, .888, 3.40) have split the UW netminding duties.
