Box Score St. Paul, Minn.— The Mavericks earned its first Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference victory Saturday as it beat Concordia University 1-0 in St. Paul.
Minnesota State junior forward Brittany Henry's fourth goal of the season was the games deciding factor. Henry’s unassisted goal 8:53 into the game is her second game-winner of the season and 21st goal as a Maverick.
MSU rattled six shots on goal as the Golden Bears tallied three shots on goal.
Freshman goalkeeper Molly McGough earned her first shutout of her MSU career, knocking down three saves on the day. McGough generates a 1.15 goals against on the season and a .795 save percentage in her five starts.
Minnesota State (3-1-1, 1-0-0 NSIC) returns to action Sunday as it takes on St. Cloud State at 1 p.m., in St. Cloud, Minn.
