Box Score Aberdeen, S.D.--  The  Minnesota State women’s soccer team lost to Northern State 1-0 in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference action Sunday afternoon. This marks the first loss in the NSIC for the Mavericks.

The Mavericks and Wolves each put up six shots in the first half, with both teams unable to score.

Wolves forward Maggie Fedor scored the game-winner at 63:27,  with an unassisted goal.  Minnesota State fired 15 shots towards the net in the second half of the game but couldn’t capitalize. The Mavericks generated 21 shots on the day, placing three on goal. The Wolves had two shots on goal.

Freshman Goalkeeper Brittany Cygan started her first game for the Mavericks, recording one save on the day. Cygan owns a 1.50 goals against average and .786 save percentage on the year.

The Mavericks are 2-1-1 in the NSIC, with a 3-4-1 overall record.  Minnesota State returns home to play Southwest Minnesota State Thursday at 3 p.m.
