Box Score Bismarck, N.D.-- Minnesota State tied the University of Mary 1-1 after two overtimes Friday afternoon.
Sophomore forward
Nicole Dooher hammered a shot into the back of the net at 39:41 in the first half. The Maverick goal marks Dooher’s second of the season and gives her a team-leading seven points. Sophomore
Cassie Weik was credited with her first assist of the season. The Mavericks got outshot 5-4 by the Marauders in the first half.
U-Mary came out with a fury of eight shots in the second half, giving them 13 in the game, earning six on goal. Alex Bachman-Williams put the Marauders on the board at 56:26 to help even the game at one. Megan Helrung got the assist on the U-Mary goal.
The Mavericks played a physical game gaining 12 fouls, U-Mary had three. Each team ended the game with six shots on goal.
Chelsey Eley improved her save percentage to .718 and her goals against average to 1.77. Eley has started every game for MSU, giving her a 3-3-1 overall record.
The Mavericks start 2-0-1 in the NSIC, with a 3-3-1 overall record. Minnesota State is set to play at Northern State, Sunday at 1 p.m.
