St. Cloud, Minn. --- Minnesota State and fourth-rated St. Cloud State battled to a 2-2 overtime tie in a WCHA game Saturday played at the National Hockey Center in St. Cloud.
SCSU took a 1-0 lead at the end of the first period when Garrett Roe's shot from the side found its way into the back of the net at the 19:58 mark.
The Mavericks evened the score at 4:40 of the second period on a power play marker from freshman defenseman Evan Mosey in which he snapped a shot off of a rebound past SCSU netminder Dan Dunn. The goal is the first career goal for Mosey.
Travis Novak's wrist shot beat MSU freshman Phil Cook high on the glove side at 5:46 of the third period, but Rylan Galiardi's power play goal at 9:08 sent the game into a scoreless overtime.  Galiardi, who had two goals and an assist in Friday's 4-2 win over the Huskies in Mankato, has now tallied 14 points in his last 15 games played.MSU, which stands 15-18-9 overall and is 9-17-1 in WCHA action, starts WCHA postseason action next weekend with a best-of-three road series at either St. Cloud State or the University of Wisconsin (dependent of outcome of Alaska Anchorage vs. Minnesota-Duluth game later tonight).
