Box Score St. Paul, Minn. --- The #7 Minnesota State Mavericks defeated the Concordia-St. Paul Golden Bears in their third NSIC match, 2-1 in St. Paul, Minn., Saturday afternoon.

The Mavericks allowed only one goal by the Golden Bears at 23:22 in the first period. MSU fought hard in the first period posting ten shots and five shots on goal.

Senior defender Abby Maxson (Maple Grove, Minn.) scored the first Maverick goal in the first period at 44:36. The goal marks Maxson's first goal of the season and first career goal. The goal assisted by senior midfielder Gina Paletta (Omaha, Neb.). The assist marks Paletta's second assist on the season and eighth career assist.

In the second period the Mavericks posted 15 shots with six shots on goal. Junior midfielder Jessie Audas (Omaha, Neb.) scored a penalty goal at 75:06. The goal is Audas' second goal of the season and sixth career goal.

Senior goalkeeper Sheila Reynolds (St. Charles, Ill.) tallied six saves in the match, three in the first period and three in the second. Reynolds now has a save percentage of .929 percent on the season. Reynolds is now 6-1-0 on the season with four shut-out matches.

The Mavericks now 6-1-0 overall and 2-1--0 in NSIC, travel to St. Cloud, Minn., to take on St. Cloud State Huskies Sunday, September 27, at 1:00 p.m.
