Box Score Mankato, Minn. --- The Minnesota State Mavericks loss a close battle to the Winona State Warriors in NSIC action, 4-2 in Mankato, Minn., Saturday afternoon.
The first period started out fast with Winona State posting their first goal after two minutes of play. The Mavericks counter attack a minute later by posting their first goal scored by senior midfielder,
Gina Paletta (Omaha, Neb.), marking her fourth goal of the season. The assist came from freshman midfielder,
Brianne West (Omaha, Neb.), her second assist of the season. MSU posted 10 shots with six on goal in the first period. Junior forward,
Laura Leber (Council Bluffs, Iowa) tallied two shots on goal in the first period. WSU earned their second goal at 34:33 to go up, 2-1, at the end of the first period.
MSU made the first attack in the second period at 49:50 to tie the match up. Junior forward,
Ann Kincaid (Bettendorf, Iowa) earned her fourth goal of the season. The assist came from freshman forward
Brittany Henry (Stillwater, Minn.), for her second season/career assist. The Mavericks posted 12 shots with five on goal in the second period. The Warriors fought back to take the lead by two, with goals scored at 52:03 and 60:17. Others posting shots on goal for the Mavericks were;

Sheila Reynolds (St. Charles, Ill.) tallied four saves in the match, three in the first period and one in the second. Reynolds now has a save percentage of .866 percent with a record of 10-3-1 on the season and 27-11-4 for her career.
The Mavericks now 10-3-1 overall and 6-3-1 in NSIC, return to the Pitch to host the Upper Iowa Peacocks, Sunday at 1:00 p.m. The match will be held at The Pitch at Gage Towers.
