Blakeslee Stadium
Blakeslee Stadium - Opened in 1962 - Home to Minnesota State University Football, historic Blakeslee Stadium also served as the summer training camp home for the NFL’s Minnesota Vikings for 52 years (1966-2017).
On Jan. 22, 2022, #TheBlake was the site for Hockey Day Minnesota - which in Mankato, turned into a week-long celebration of the game of hockey. More than 10,000 packed the stands for the Minnesota State vs. St. Thomas men's hockey game on Saturday of that week (7-1 Minnesota State win).
The 7,000-seat facility offers great site lines and a natural grass surface. Since 2009 Minnesota State has served as the host to 18 NCAA Division II football playoff games, including three national semifinal contests (2012 vs. Valdosta State (35-19 loss), 2014 vs. Concord (47-13 win) and 2018 vs. Ferris State (42-25 loss)).
Former athletics administrator and coach C.P. Blakeslee, who was inducted into the MSU Athletics Hall of Fame as a charter member in 1963, served in various capacities at the school from 1924-61.
