Charlie Brown and sophomore
Kevin Krieger have garnered All-NSIC First Team honors for their efforts this season.
Brown and Krieger are the first Mavericks to receive All-NSIC First Team honors since Jon Fuqua did so during the 2016-17 season.
A native of Joplin, Mo., Brown has started in all 29 games this season and is averaging a team-best 16.6 points and 3.8 assists per game. He has scored 20 points or more in 11 games this season, including a career-high 28 points against Sioux Falls. Earlier this season, Brown was named the NSIC South Division Player of the Week after averaging 18 points and 6.0 assists per game against Sioux Falls and Southwest Minnesota State, while shooting 65% from the field.
A native of Plainfield, Ill., Krieger has started in all 29 games for the Mavericks this season and is averaging 16.2 points and 5.9 rebounds per game. Krieger is also shooting 49.7% from the field, including a team-best 52.6% from long range. He has tallied at least 20 points in nine games this season, including a career-high 30 points against Bemidji State and Southwest Minnesota State. Krieger has also recorded three double-doubles.
Minnesota State continues its season in the second round of the NSIC/Sanford Health Tournament on Saturday against Minot State at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, S.D. Tip-off is scheduled for 2:30 p.m.
