Emilia Andersson is a defenseman for the Minnesota State women’s hockey team. A native of Stockholm, Sweden, she was named by her teammates as MSU’s Rookie of the Year in 2008-09. She did not compete for the Mavericks in 2009-2010 because she was competing for the Swedish National Team in the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics.
“Emilia, first and foremost, is a competitor that always demands the best out of herself. She practices and plays the game the same everyday,” said head women’s hockey coach
Eric Means. “She has been a person that has been key to our success on the powerplay. She plays a tremendous amount of minutes every night and has been a leader for us on the blueline.”
