Lauren Zrust, a senior forward from Blaine, Minn., is in her fourth year with the Minnesota State women’s hockey team. Zrust has tallied two goals, five assists and seven points on the season.

Eric Means said this about Zrust, “Lauren is a player who didn’t see much ice time her first two years, but by her junior year she was tied for first with most goals scored and continues to see more ice time now in her career.”
1) What made you choose MSU?
LZ "It is close enough to home so that my parents are able to come watch almost every game. Also, I wanted to play in the WCHA, since it is the best women's hockey conference in the nation."
2) How long have you been playing hockey?
LZ "This is my 15th year of playing competitive hockey."
3) Who are some of your role model athletes?
LZ "I don't have any specific role model athletes. I would consider most professional athletes as role models because they have such a wealth of knowledge on how to play the game, and possess the work ethic needed to reach a high level in their respective sport."
4) What are your expectations for the second half of the season?
LZ "Ideally, I hope that our team plays well enough to secure home ice advantage for the playoffs and eventually make it to the WCHA Final Four."
5) What is your most memorable hockey moment?
LZ "My most memorable hockey moment would be all of the times spent in the locker room, or on the bus to away trips with all of the girls."
6) What are you planning on doing after you leave MSU?
LZ "I plan on pursuing my doctorate of physical therapy at either the University of Minnesota, or at a school on the east coast."
7) How do you want people to remember you here at MSU?
LZ "I hope that people at MSU will remember me as hardworking and caring."
8) What gets you pumped up before a game?
LZ "Listening to my iPod."
9) What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
LZ "Spending time with family and friends, and traveling as much as I can."
10) If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go? Why?
LZ "If I could go anywhere in the world, I would go to Australia. I have always wanted to scuba dive or snorkel on the Great Barrier Reef."
