Players and Coaches Represent MSU at USA Hockey Women’s National Festival

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Players and coaches in the Minnesota State women's hockey program will participate in various roles at the USA Hockey Women's National Festival August 3-17 at the Olympic Center in Lake Placid, N.Y.
 
The USA Hockey Women's National Festival is a week-long event that takes place annually. The camp roster includes top players from the U18 level to the national team. Players will participate in practice sessions and scrimmages throughout the camp.
 
Taylor Otremba (Sr., F, Lakeville, Minn.), Kianna Roeske (Sr., D, Paynesville, Minn.) and Whitney Tuttle (Sr., F, Rosemount, Minn.) will try out for the USA Hockey collegiate development team.
 
Former Maverick defender Anna Wilgren ('23) is part of the United States Women's National Team (USWNT) and one of 30 players competing for a roster spot on the 2026 United States Olympic Team. Wilgren posted nine points and three goals in 30 games in the PWHL last season for the Montreal Victoire.
 
Current assistant coach Mackenzie Bruch will be the goaltending coach for the United States Under-18 National Team. Associate head coach Jeff Giesen will be in a scout/evaluator position for both the Women's National Team and the Collegiate Development Team. Head coach Shari Dickerman continues as an assistant coach for the Women's National Team.
 
Bruch has worked numerous regional and national selection camps and was named USA Hockey's U18 goaltending coach for the 2025 IIHF World Championships in Vantaa, Finland. She served as USA Hockey's U22 goaltending coach in 2022 and 2023, which included two series wins over Team Canada.
 
Dickerman and Giesen, along with director of hockey operations Amanda Long also served on the staff for the event last season. Dickerman was in the same role last fall. She was also an assistant coach in the Collegiate Select Series, the Rivalry Series and the World Championships the past three seasons, helping the Americans secure silver in 2024 and gold in 2023 and 2025.
 
Last season, MSU was represented at the Women's National Festival in Lake Placid, N.Y. by players Jenessa Gazdik, JuliAnna Gazdik, Sydney Langseth, Jamie Nelson and Whitney Tuttle. Players invited to attend in 2023-24 included Charlotte Akervik, Jamie Nelson and Taylor Otremba.
 
Minnesota State women's hockey opens its 2025-26 campaign at RPI Sept. 19-20 in Troy, N.Y.
